I wonder if anyone has any experience buying their lease car at auction? I have been trying to negotiate a price on my 67 plate 1.4 FR Leon but have only been able to get Hitachi down to £12k. I'm fairly certain where the car will be taken to for auction and suspect that it will go for less than £12k even if there is a reserve but maybe I am wrong. Any help appreciated.

As a private buyer the auction buyer’s premium on a £12k car would be significant (circa £600-700); you would need to factor that into your calculations.

After having a quick look at similar vehicles you might be up £500. It's not worth the hassle imo.

It may not end up in an open auction - some of the lease companies offer stock lists directly to car supermarkets and other dealers before they'll put them in an auction.

My last lease car was collected by BCA but was never entered in a BCA auction - it appeared at a branch of CarShop about 3 weeks after it was collected. The price was still pretty keen I thought.
