Private buyer giving me grief over a £700 car, what actions?

just send a standard reponse, he inspected car, test drove it, and bought as 'Let the buyer beware'. You offered a GOG thats the end of the matter.
After sale your legal obligation to him stopped after he drove off. If he wanted a car that had comeback.he should have bought from a trader

When ever i sell a car i write up a contract saying the cars been inspected , test driven and is sold as seen .
Before they pay i say if your not happy about anything you can back out and i'll give you a lift back to the station if needed so there's zero pressure from me to buy the car .
We then both date and sign 2 copies .
To date i've had one buyer try it on but he got nowhere and soon went away .
My best buyers have been the ones who intend to break the car .

You can go online and print out a used car sale contract , takes 10 seconds on Google to find one .

Even though he already knocked me down £300 off the car to start with.
So the latest message I’ve just received is a picture of the car on the back of a recovery truck and he’s said “engine failure” £300 to fix including parts and labour ?? cheap “engine failure” if you ask me.
Anyway my question is how would anyone handle this situation? It’s a £700 20 year old car at the end of the day, thanks in advance

You pays your money, you takes your chance, and he sounds like a chancer. I'd love to know how he got a £300 quote to fix the engine while the car was still on the back of a recovery truck.
I would also advise him that if he turns up on your doorstep you'll be calling the police.
You advertised the car honestly and accurately I presume?
You owe him nothing. He hasn't a leg to stand on, legal or otherwise.
STOP all contact from now. Do not reply to any messages, don't send him the £60 and do call the police if he turns up. He's trying it on.
