Honda Civic - newer high miles facelift vs. older low miles?

Hi all - Looking at picking up a Honda Civic (1.8 petrol / manual). I have narrowed it down to 2 locally and would appreciate your input...

1. 2015 Feb (facelifted) 1.8 SR 80000 miles - 1 owner full Honda history up @ £7.5K at local garage (3 month RAC warranty)

vs.

2. 2014 March (pre facelift) 1.8 EX GT 40000 miles - 2 owner full Honda History up @ £9K at Honda dealer (1 year Honda warranty)

It seems to me the newer facelifted one makes more sense despite the higher miles? We buy any car puts them both at @ £1K over on sticker price.

Any thoughts appreciated.

We currently lease the current model 1.0 vtec sr 125 bhp for £200 a month with £600 deposit on a 3 year lease.

That’s where I would be looking if you are happy not to own the car.

Newer one if it was me OP, 80k isn't high mileage what so ever, I would always go newer car over mileage.

If it is what you want to pay/budget + nice having facelift, will make you keep it longer as it will age better.

Same as usual, mileage doesn't = a bad car, always buy on condition, I stopped getting hung up about mileage years ago, quite late liberating and activity look for above average miles nowadays.

Just take into account it will be worth less if you decide to sell it later.

Old thread...but just wondering if any of your guys have experience or have owned a pre-facelift and facelift Mk9 Civic?

Is the facelift worth the extra couple of grand, or is the pre 99% the same car?

It's basically the same car underneath so buy on condition/spec rather than newer/older, saying that the facelift car looks fresher.

I'd go newer rather than higher spec.

I've taken my facelift 2014 Civic from 38k to 63k in 3 years and aside from regular servicing, tyres and wipers its cost me nothing. Its approaching 7 years old and my MOT tester said everything there are no signs of needing any bushes etc
