confused: Audi s5 2018 or new BMW 135i
Discussion
I am normally quite decisive when buying but I am struggling with this one so throwing the question out there for some thoughts and opinions.
I have been a lease car user fo the past 5/6 motors and always been restricted by the Co2 burden for BIK tax. But not anymore. Out of the last 13 cars I have had 9 have been Audis!
So I decided to go for something fast and fun.. this lead me to the Merc AMG A35 and BMW 135i. On balance I opted for the BMW (more usable every day and just better finished IMHO).
Then the recent 840i deal got me lusting after a bigger car with that sweet B58 - but I lucked out on that. On chance I also stumbled across an Audi S5 - first mistake was to drive it! It is a thing of beauty.
So:
1. BMW 135i
- brilliant, 306hp, functional, tonnes of modern tech but smaller car and a bit unsure of the looks
2. Audi s5 (2018)
- stunning v6 engine, big and beautiful but older, 19k miles, and effectively the same interior as my current A4 Avant.
Any thoughts out there on an older S5 vs a new hot hatch? Both are roughly the same money.
Thanks.

The new 1 series has grown on me a bit. A friend of mine has just got a 118i m sport in grey and when I looked it over I did think it was a very nice car.
I wonder if you would be paying a premium for a brand new model though?
Are there any deals on the previous 140i which would tempt you? Rwd and all that.
Both great cars though so I guess it's down to personal choice as they are quite different.

I actually like the new 1 series over the old one, and although the older engine is better I would also prefer the xdrive. They are very different choices and I think that is what is holding me back on the 135i - moving from A4/A6 sized buses to a golf sized car is the thing that is making me doubt my decision. That is why I started looking at the S5...... too much temptation!!
