Focus v civic v auris

Looking for a new car and wanting some input narrowed it down to the three cars above but open to other options . Car needs are

• 5 door
• reliable
• petrol ( do 5-6k a year )
• 8 k budget
• decent size boot

Focus would be my choice with one of the higher powered Ecoboost, I could live with the rather tacky dash as the way they drive makes up for it.

The Civic looks like the designer had a stroke.

The Focus will drive the best.

What do you prioritise most? Reliability, st looks or dynamics?

Thanks for the reply’s so far , thinking focus would be ideal currently for the fiesta and had been a great car . Would you buy older version saw nice 60 plate with good millage 1.6 litre or would go for newer model ? Guessing both are just as reliable?

A mate picked up a Focus Titanium X 1.0 Ecoboost last year and raves about it. Big enough boot to stick his golf clubs in and cart around all the kids stuff. Car comes very well equipped in terms of toys as well.

Im not the biggest fan of the way the dash looks, but cant fault the car otherwise. I was unsure on the 1.0 ecoboost engine, but he says its perfect on his commute into work and no issues on his regular 3 hour trips back to Wales.

we just bought a family car to that exact spec, went with the civic 2015 plate, honda reliability and no turbo engine was vital for us, plus its a bit different to seeing a focus every single turn, rear visibility is bizarre but it has a reverse camera and sensors so not bad really.

I think I would go a Civic 1.8 petrol well proven engine & in estate form quite smart looking practical car. The auto version is meant to be very good as well.

I have driven the 1.0 125bhp focus manual , nice sounding engine but I thought first gear was very high , needing planty of revs for pulling away.
