Used Golf R mk 7 depreciation: wait until Golf 8 (non R)?
Discussion
I’m looking at getting an approved used Golf R mk7 Manual.
Watching the market they seem to be moving relatively slowly, with evidence of discounting.
The mk8 will be here in April. Am I better to wait until then as demand/prices drop as the new model arrives? Appreciate the new mk8 R is probably a year away.
I’ve read members comments about the R with great interest! Obviously concerned about buying a knackered, clocked ex-lease car.
So I’m being careful: getting the dealer to confirm in writing about history, haldex oil changes, and to confirm that no remap or mileage alteration has occurred before going to view.
Any other tips however would be useful.
Thanks for your help

Most Golf R's will be ex lease/PCH etc, I don't see why that would be an issue by all means do your due diligence but if it's been clocked you'll never know unless the history etc doesn't add up so buy on condition & receipts after that just enjoy your car.
Exactly this ^Enjoy it!
