Im stuck looking for my next car.
Problem i have is i have a modified st180 and its a lot of fun, and given im going to have to put about 10k towards other cars ive found i need it to be a good step in the right direction.
I need to change to a 5 door as we are planning on having a baby. Doesent have to be huge just big enough to get a pram in. The main thing i want is it MUST sound good, 4 cylinder sounds s
t and its been near enough the only thing thats bugged me with my current car.
BMW 140i is ticking most of the boxes at the moment, any advice or opinions?
The older shape focus st 2.5 is also something im looking at BUT FWD traction is frustrating so im leaning more towards 4WD or RWD. Anything else i could look at?
Budget is up to 20k, but if im paying that much i dont want it to be much older than 3 years old.

Make sure you take your buggy & Seat with you so you can see how much space they take up:
Haggle & you should get a 340i M Sport you'll have to haggle though:

M140 Pro Nav

These are pretty much your only options if you don't want a 4 pot.

M140i works fine for us from newborn baby to coming up to 3 years old now. Mrs and I both like it, not sure what would replace it!
Plenty performance on tap, easy to drive, big enough to fit in what you need and swivel baby seat fits behind passenger seat so there is still enough room in the front for an adult (I'm 5'9) to sit fairly comfortably.
Decent on fuel on a run, not so great in town, but considering it's a straight 6 it's acceptable!

being (slightly) more sane though there's a whole range of V8 Mercs out there in this price range (as well as V6)
