Hello everyone,

I am looking for a second car, something under 3k mainly for the partner to do the school runs, shopping and general day to day things like that?

Anyone suggestions are welcome, preferably a petrol car.

Cheers

Japanese and petrol for complete and utter reliability.

I'd go Toyota Yaris:

Or if you need more space a Honda Civic 1.8. Go for EX trim and you'll have leather and lots of toys as well. I had one for a couple of years and it was a good motor.

Having had a 147 and a GTV in twinspark guise I probably wouldn't recommend one for what you need. They're generally very reliable but you need to check the oil quite a lot as they tend to use a bit and cambelts are every 3 years or 36k miles and quite pricey. They are gorgeous inside and out though and drive great.....

What about a Honda Jazz? Just make sure the gearbox bearings are fine and they're a fantastic car
