As title. Without going into detail my 10 day old car broke down. I’m told it’ll be off the road for the next 6 weeks for repair. The manufacturer is being very unhelpful.

Under consumer rights this would be an easy rejection, but it’s leased through a ltd co so the consumer rights act doesn’t apply?

Does anyone know? I’ve googled and it’s difficult finding info as mostly results for lease cars come back!

Why would it not apply?

I’ve spoken to them but it’s very unclear, it’s obviously in their interest to not allow someone to reject so I wondered if I could confirm from an independent source to strengthen my argument.

A business isn’t a consumer. Most business to business transactions are excluded from consumer protections, as far as I know. Happy to be correct on this one!

Is your contract/agreement signed as an individual (aka consumer) or a business ?

This. You need to make it clear what you mean by “leased through a ltd”

OP: Have a read here: https://www.nfda-uk.co.uk/press-room/newsletter/20... - and bear in mind this is written from the motor trader side of things.

The ltd co/business has signed the lease agreement. I then use the vehicle as a company car and pay benefit in kind etc. It’s an EV, so hugely advantageous come April.

Thanks, the previous link was exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. So I was right in that the consumer goods act doesn’t apply, but I need to check if the t&cs exclude the SOGA. That gives me somewhere to start and I can draft a letter quoting the SOGA and see where I get to!

Consumer rights don't apply. Google finance and Leasing association and this should give you further info for business transactions.
