Audi Q5 or SQ5 / Common issues with either?
Discussion
So the time has come that I will be trading in my 2015 A1 - it’s been a great car to drive, and has never had as much as an advisory on its MOT, but I’m about to start a job that requires me to drive to client sites so I’m thinking of something big and diesel.
I want to stick with Audi, as other family members have gone with BMW and the dealers aren’t as good near us - also the cars haven’t been as reliable.
I was thinking about a Q5, and was scheduled to view one only for the seller to sell it the day before I drove 200 miles to view (at least he caught me before I left!) - I then noticed that I could either have a nice 15 plate V6 Q5 with 75k miles for 17.5k from Evans Halshaw, or a 64 plate SQ5 with less equipment and 65k miles for 19k from a private guy near me. I went to see the SQ5 - it seems like a fairly honest workhouse that perhaps has gone through a few too many car washes for its own good (also had 2 bigger scuffs and a couple deeper scratches). I have yet to view the Q5.
What do the good people of pistonheads think - shall I go for the SQ5 or the Q5? Surprisingly for both, insurance is only £130 more p/a than the A1 lol
Also does anyone know of any common issues with either? I know the Q5 has some suspension problems and electrical gremlins, but was wondering if the S has some special group of issues haha
Thanks in advance!
