KIA Ceed or Honda Civic - Page 1 - Car Buying

Following on from my previous discussion regarding KIA values after the 7 year warranty period, i have decided on one or the other as my next daily.

I am looking for a 5dr Diesel Hatch. Quandary is that for my budget i am looking at Ceeds at 70/80k miles with potentially a year or so of factory warranty remaining or Civics a year or so older with perhaps a few more miles and no longer under any form of warranty.

what are peoples thoughts given that Honda's are generally very reliable?

As a rental car I can see people using cars like this. I do however find it inconceivable that anyone would want to put their own money into buying one. As for choosing between the two. Is it not rather like choosing between a brown paper bag or a white paper bag?

300bhp/ton I see exactly what you are saying although it is to supplement a couple of more interesting cars, it will be used purely for commuting and the odd day trip etc

Fair dos. My brother worked at a Kia dealership a number of years back. On the whole the cars seemed very reliable and well put together. But the Honda is likely to hold its money better. The trade off being you’ll probably buy more Kia for your money now.
