I like a plush drive. I had an Audi a5 coupe sline. So soild to drive, soft but sticky on the motorway, cheap and no teething problems. The GTi speck has everything, 227bph, reverse sensors, petrol. The a200 I have regenerates every 2 weeks and is awful drive when it does. Plus it's too light, jolty on gear change from 1st to 2nd. I'm more about feeling plush in a car. I like a car to feel it is gliding on faster roads but glued to them too.
I’ve never known an A5 to glide, I always found them pretty poor when it came to suspension and very poor in the steering department, perhaps you would be better off looking at an M135i
With regards to the engines, if it has the chain then make sure the services have been every 10k and possibly budget for it going wrong, there is a water pipe that warps and leaks and the gearbox needs an oil change every 38k, they are not a patch on the 8sp ZF either
If it must be a vag car go and buy a cupra and get much more for your money.
