Hi all

It's my first post and the title says it all. I have not had a chance to drive any but hoping to get some advice before I do.

Reasons for these three:
Low mileage
Must be auto
Mature look - no more small hatches for me
Insurance cost - sadly at 24 I am limited to these two, I am aware the Jag is 240bhp so not a fair performance comparison but I can't afford the steep incline to 428i as anything above IG30 is 250+ monthly

Deciding factors:
Handling and performance - fortunate enough to have a fun commute
Tech and comfort
Reliability - questionable JLR

I have a 2017 XE 2.5T (which is 250bhp) and, IMHO, its easily the best handling car in its class. The earlier 240bhp has the Ford engine in it, but it has a good rep.

I've had it for 2.5 years and its been as reliable as my previous BMW F31 3 series.

Tech is poor though. Sat Nav is low tech unless you find one with the Touch Pro system. Some people have had electrical issues, so worth checking over carefully. Only suspect electrical issue on mine has been the optional rear camera which seems to think it can decide when it wants to work.

Comfort is very good, especially the low road noise (a pet hate of mine after the 3 series).

Worth mentioning rear seat space is cramped and the boot space is poor. Worth finding one with the optional folding rear seat if that's important. The optional rear camera is also worth finding as rear visability is pants.

Drive one though - and you'll forget the negative aspects.
