£15k depreciation proof car?

I’m considering selling my current ‘spare’ car and all the bits I’ve got kicking about for it and buying something for the weekend which won’t plummet in value.

In a similar boat, what would you buy?

I'm biased of course, but it's been really sad to see these continue to depreciate. They're fantastic and i cannot think of anything that has such a blend of abilities.

I think I’d buy a Cayman over a Boxster but they’re still coming down a bit, I definitely don’t have room for 3 Boxsters!

Any Caterham or Lotus or similar track car will hold its value forever.

Road focused cars, fast Fords are a good bet.

C5 Corvette seems to be as cheap as they're going to get, the C4 already seems to be on the way up (actually scrub 'seems' prices are well over what they would have been 10 years ago)

Low mileage S1 Elise. They've already dipped and are now slowly appreciating. £15K won't get you a 111S, Sport 160, or even a Sport 135 though, which are rarer and more sought after, and therefore likely to appreciate even more.

If you could find another £4.5K under the mattress, this one is in true timewarp condition, and with only 8,000 miles, a pretty sound investment:

Early K-Series S2 Elises are a bit cheaper, and also won't lose money.

I want an S1 Sport 160 in Scandal Green, with an NA K20A engine transplant. Sacrilege I know.
