This car 3 weeks ago was £25850. It's price then went up to £26150 last week and now I checked on it this morning and they've put the price up to £26350?

What would be the reason for this??? Surely it should be gojng the other wayif it hasn't sold in a month no? The webuyanycar price for it has gone down as well.

auto price adjustment algorithm based on traffic/views

the more clicks the higher the price

there is also software that looks at the value of equipment your on, spending profile, location etc. and can adjusts the price based on your result.

I'm sure they follow the market with Autotrader, and it's priced as "good" market value,it works both ways they will reduce aswel but with access to a huge amount of data analysis if that what the market says...

The market value placed by Auto Trader is something I'll never understand - 2 identical models can have low price and high price ratings - seen it on near enough identical cars, same colour etc.

I don't doubt it's useful but it seems somewhat arbitrary.

A lot of stuff has over the last month or two gone up in the book.
Lack of decent retailable stock out there.
Current auction prices are making near retail book on some stuff.
Prices can go up as well as down.
