Big estate car recommendations

I’m looking at getting a new estate, I currently have a Mercedes C180K Sport Edition but it’s a little on the small side and too expensive to run. I’m a dog walker so looking for a large and economical estate where you can fold the seats flat. Any suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks

Skoda superb is vast. My current Golf Estate has the same boot capacity as my old C7 A6 (last shape) though, and is much smaller externally. I prefer it as it's smaller overall (slightly less passenger space, but still good) and just less cumbersome to park/place on the road but with all the boot space of the bigger car. Think the Octavia boot is also pretty huge but the Superb is just massive!

One point of view from me, a C180 is probably mid level in terms of running costs, a bigger, newer car may not be much cheaper to run day to day and you will end up paying money to change which may offset any savings you make. Basically you might end up paying quite a bit more, net, for something that suits your needs only a little better, space wise (you say its only a little on the small side, currently).

Depending on how much you want to spend i'd either go for a Saab 9-5 estate, Octavia Estate or superb Estate.

It'll depend on how much you're wanting to spend? I'm assuming you want to stick with a petrol? I'd say the Mondeo pretty much ticks every box, which one will depend on your budget.

I had a 2016 superb hatch 2.0 tdi, the internal space and boot space was frankly cavernous. Much bigger overall than my Volvo V90, I found out just how much because I had overlap between cars and unloaded a Not very full up superb into the V90 and completely filled the boot! The v90 has slightly larger external dimensions too.

The superb estate is even bigger than the hatch.

My father in law has a 2015 mondeo estate and whilst bigger than the V90 internally, is not as big as the superb.

Edit: achieving 50mpg was easy in our superb too - 60 on the motorway at ahem... 70mph.

Now curve ball - if you want space then an S Max or a Galaxy offer vast space superb. Levels of comfort for passengers up to 7 adults then add in roof box for up to another 600ltrs of space.

We have an SMax it’s used for everything does the job well.

Skoda Superb, my 2.0 diesel does 60+ mpg and the boot is so big it's in a different postcode.

There are BIG cars and there are big cars.

If it has to be an estate then the Skoda Superb is huge boot wise

Although at the budget end the Dacia LoganMCV boot is bigger than most of its similar sized rivals and as big as a Mondeo boot
If your considering the Logan, the stepway version with the raised ride height is nicer to drive, was better than expected.

Looking to spend up to 4500.. potentially more but slightly worried as dogs will be going in the car.

Probably around 4500, yes id need to stick with petrol as ULEZ coming in..

I agree, but my last car was a Citroen Nemo, it was a really uncomfortable drive
