3 or 4 year PCP
Discussion
Hi I was hoping for some quick advice. I have ordered Q7 on PCP and have to finalise finance figures for delivery of car end of the month. Choosing between:
1) 1k deposit, 35 x £565/month for 8k miles with optional balloon payment £37700
2) 1k deposit, 47 x £545/month for 8k miles with optional balloon payment £34200
Initially thought the 48 month offer would be better as £20 per month cheaper so would pay £700 less over the first 3 years (with further £545 monthly payments for 4th year). However then I have to take into account costs of running car in 4th year (MOT, tyres, potential extra service, no warranty etc) and lack of flexibility in having to keep car for extra year.
What are your thoughts?

look at a lease from Stable Vehicle Contracts.
A lease will also include the hefty RFL so build that into your sums too.
If it were me I'd do 3 years as in year 4 if there are issues and no warranty you could pay out big time. Especially if you think you will hand the car back after the end of contract there's little or no benefit of keeping it for the extra year.

Mo-mo my Q7 from DTD arrived yesterday, all in good order etc...so far so good
I’ve also plugged in the registration into WBAC and it’s higher than the discount prices we got....that’s a first!!!
Enjoy when it arrives
Hi Ed. Congrats. I'm taking delivery of vehicle end of month so got few weeks to wait still.I’ve also plugged in the registration into WBAC and it’s higher than the discount prices we got....that’s a first!!!

Interesting regarding WBAC price. I thought it might be possible to buy some of "cheap" Q7/A8s after discount - and then flogging them to WBAC for quick profit if price was greater than discounted prices. Prob not worth all the effort though for relatively small profit!
