I looked for a 100 last year, great cars and fun to drive but all I saw was rough cars mis described.
If you can find one in decent condition I'd get it, fun but reasonably practical and rare on the road.
4x4 would be on my list if I needed 4x4 but since I don't I'd take the rarer more fun 100

I like that people seem to struggle choosing between these chalk and cheese options. If you test drive both, you'd probably know immediately. Failing that, experiencing the 100hp would be informative.
Lol! Good point. Although <unpopular opinion > the sellers of most 100’s seem prone to porkies, the “not as described” point being valid. I will try and see the 100, but in this market and time who knows if they’ll let me!Extreme bias time!
I had one as my first car back in 2015, it was incredible fun. Manageable to run as a student quite comfortably on a part time job with the worst cost being insurance, Servicing it yourself cost maybe £70 and that was with good quality Castrol Edge oil, independents would've charged around £120ish as the sump only holds 3 litres and the filters are all quite easy to get to. In my 4 years of ownership I got through 3 sets of front tyres, 1 set of rears, 2 rear dampers (common failure point), 4 sets of front pads (road rallies) and both front arms in terms of maintenance.
Driving wise it's brilliant bloody fun, revvy little engine and because the refinement is so poor it feels like you're going twice as fast as the speedo suggests. Steering is a bit numb and hard to get used to if you're used to the feedback of modern eps/hydraulic but because it's so light and mildly stiff you can kind of feel the limits of grip through the seat, add to that quite keen turn in, sending it down a B road was great fun. On a cold/wettish day you could quite easily induce some lift off oversteer
I bought another quite recently on a whim as I missed mine and the monotony of driving a diesel auto estate was slowly starting to kill my soul. I'm quite pleased to say that it wasn't just first car nostalgia, it is genuinely a really fun little car, not the fastest thing around but it's just quite engaging and fun to drive! (Makes a cracking noise too) Sadly it's probably one of the ones you've come across in your searches as having 3 cars of which only 1 gets any regular use is
