Is it safe picking up a used car?
Discussion
Assuming you're not in a high risk group, I'm sure you'd be fine if you practice basic precautions / hygeine; Keep the handover brief and in the open (Or otherwise well ventilated) where possible keeping some space; Wash hands afterwards before you touch your face; Take some dettol to wipe down the keys / interior.
If you've already bought and are picking up that shouldn't be so bad; An extended test drive might provide an opportunity for transmission.

Thanks TX.
Not sure why my question was merged with one about 'safety'- I was asking whether it will be legal.
Will most car showrooms close?
It looks very likely. Not sure why my question was merged with one about 'safety'- I was asking whether it will be legal.

I had an E-mail from Sytner earlier today saying their showrooms were closing at the end of trading tomorrow, other than for collections of cars ordered.
I put down a deposit on a shed to get me around for a while (given the status of the economy) instead of buying an Audi S5 which I was originally looking for... but now that option looks doomed too, as I was supposed to pick it up from the private seller later this week!
The biggest issue now is that the person has spent part of the deposit and doesn't have the money to pay the full amount back or proceed with the car sale! (She lost her job)
I wish she didn't need it yesterday night when I viewed it, so couldn't take it home with me - good deed turned bad!
