20 year old - struggling to find replacement

Hi all,

I am 20 years old and looking to get into something more interesting for my 20th birthday, I really want a coupe or a 'drivers' sports car, budget is around £12k including car and insurance, I am after something with some good performance and charm. Also trying to steer away from boy racer image too.

Insurance is social domestic, 4000 miles a year, no ncb, been driving almost two years, lost my ncb recently and wish to get rid of my corsa soon.


Already looked at
BMW Z4- I am too tall at 6'3 to fit in this
GTI Mk4 Gti 1.8T - insurance is £1,800 for a car worth £4k , not sure I will fit
E46 330ci - insurance £6K!
Audi TT- Don't quite fit comfortably
Alfa Romeo brera - insurance £4K

Does anyone have any ideas of cool cars I could fit in and within my price range?

I like the Golf Gti Mk5. Maybe even an Edition 30. Can be remapped well and seem to hold their value.

Or maybe a Megane rs250. Not sure what insurance would be like on these but apparently a great drive.
