The Peugeot 404 was famed for its reliability and often saw service as a taxi cab. Most taxi drivers are renowned for knowing their way around, but it would seem that this one needs to update his A to Z, as he has got a bit lost.

Sadly, you'll have to get out and start your journey again. Our advice? Don't leave a tip

I'm a Lexus fan, I have an LS 400, but the CVT gearbox puts me off the RX. On the other hand they are reliable, not so sure about the X5 in that regard

Buy the Lexus. A 16 year old V8 BMW SUV is not a sensible place to put £7k imo.

Is that the N62 engine? If so, I recommend a two metre bargepole to not touch it with smile

I'd say it depends how much you're happy to spend on maintenance and running costs, I'd imagine there's quite a big gap in running costs but if you're happy to pay for a more interesting car, the X5 seems a reasonable bet.

Only thing, if you get an RX400h you should probably try and do something to secure the catalyst from crooks.

Looking into it, i think i may well spend a bit more and get an Rx450h....bit newer, got all the gadgets i need and comfy and reliable.
I think the BMW is lovely, but i doubt i could ever truly keep enough funds on standby for when it throws a fit.
We already have a 2005 330ci in the house for fun...
