Hi guys,

New to the forum, currently the owner of an early edition R35 GTR stage 1 590bhp.

I really have my eye on a C7 RS6 hoping to push for a facelift 2015+ model however I am still yet to drive one, is this car going to feel sluggish compared with the GTR? Have any of you guys driven one back to back with the GTR?

The other option high on my list is an f10 M5 I have always previously had M sport BMW’s my last was a 92 M3 and I have never really delved down the Audi Quattro route, the sound of the RS6 combined with the wider more aggressive stance draws me to it, subjective of course.

I am going to drive both of these cars but would greatly appreciate your input! PLEASE HELP!

I have also read the common issues with these cars, the better servicing is also a big plus my GTR is every 6 months or 6k miles and I have to drive half way down the country to litchfield

Thanks guys, look forward to having a discussion.

Quite a different switch, the GTR is more stiffer more raw, Audi quattros aren't great if your driving hard and the RS6 shows its weight.

The M5 is RWD and will struggle to get power down and the noise will be quite muted, comes down to what your wanting out the car? For outright pace the RS6 would be better and for the traffic lights grand prix but the M5 would be more fun but the power isn't always usable!

I had an F10 M5 at the same time a friend had a C7 RS6 we swapped cars for the day and I was amazed how much more isolated/disconnected the RS6 felt compared to the M5 (itself not exactly a lightweight sports car) They are both lovely but if you want some feedback and a little little soul/character I'd go for the M5.

Interesting, thanks for this reply. I wonder if the F80 m3 would be worth a try as well?

The RS6 will feel like a blunt instrument compared to the GT-R acceleration wise it will feel a bit slower the interior is the next level they're good cars but if you're looking for feedback then look elsewhere:

When it comes to something closer to your GT-R then I'd say take a look at the M6/M6 Gran Coupe they're more of a drivers car & will also be a bit more comfortable.

Traction isn't the biggest issue unless you want it to be & somewhere between the two is the E63, when it comes to the M3 at this price point I'd be buying the Giulia:

I've had one of those as well, much more raw than the M5 I had the MP HAS kit put on and corner weighted/lowered it was very good but again traction limited (that can be a good or bad thing depending on what you enjoy from driving)

The only problem is that you have linked to a non Competizione Red...... it is both illegal and immoral to buy one of these in any other colour. Great choices and work as always but please never let yourself down again on such an elementary mistake wink

You're right but I prefer the Alfa red but would actually buy a black with the exterior carbon pack.

I can see that logic but I would want the Comp red, the round dial wheels and carbon seats. It is as close to a 4 door Ferrari as anyone could imagine. Super fast steering, a sublime chassis and incredible noise.

The biggest mistake I made recently was getting an M4 Comp instead of that Alfa.

Once we are out of this lockdown I will buy with my heart not my head......
