Selling a car during lockdown - how much deposit? Any tips?

Hi Guys,

Currently selling my car - great timing. Put it up a couple of weeks before the lockdown really struck, and have had plenty of interest since. One buyer wants to put a deposit on the car as yet unseen. What is a reasonable amount to ask for as a holding deposit?

Car is up for 9.5k, buyer seems happy with the price - is 10% reasonable to take it off the market?

Should it be refundable?

Any general tips (apart from 'should have picked a better time to sell')?

i would ask for 1k and make sure it was clear that it was not refundable as you are giving up other sales opportunities to hold the car (and prices will tank as the lock down continues)
