Our combined mileage has totally dropped from about 15k a year to less than about 5k, so with a leased A3 due to go back, we are looking at getting something for cash.

Car will only really be used on weekends, and the occasional trip out in the evenings as I have a van and OH Walks to work

We don’t really have that many requirements as we are a couple with no kids, OH likes Audi’s and Mercedes, I’m not fussed on brand and prefer to buy on equipment etc

Budget is flexible up to 12k, but would prefer under 6k

The only real requirements I have is it HAS to have a panoramic sunroof which opens OR at least a normal one (We had a Leon with one and I loved it)

Petrol or diesel, manual or auto, preferably under 12 years old but not a deal breaker. Coupe, hatchback or saloon, plan to keep 3 years

Personally I would buy a mk2 focus ST but OH will not go for that.

MK4 Mondeo 2.5T. Same engine as the ST, but totally different type of car/image. Well made and well equipped too.

Since everyone started to want A/C, cars with a sunroof have become hard to find.

But last year I found a BMW 330i way below your bottom budget with a few handy options, one of which was an electric tilt/slide glass sunroof and unless it is seriously hot I prefer opening the roof to using the A/C.

It came in pretty handy last year!

Good luck finding one. thumbup
