15k,e55 amg or something else?

I was going to get a b7 rs4 but have been turned to the 2004/5 e55 amg probably an estate,I know the handling is not on point compared to a bmw e46 m3 nor is the rs4 hence going down the e55 route,due mainly to watching all the legitstreetcars posts on YouTube! I’ve got a mk2.5 mx5 which I’m going to turbo for
My trackday fun.
Is this a good plan regarding the e55 choice, I did have my heart set on the rs4 but it’s mainly the engine that’s putting me off,to the point I was thinking of getting the 3.0t s4 avant and tuning that. I do like to play with cars tuning wise and there isn’t a lot you can do to the rs4 and seeing how bulletproof the e55 is,is what’s swaying me. Is there anything else out there that would match the reliability of the e55 with that sort of power?

At this price point I'd be tempted to go for the W211 E63:

Tuning wise then the 55 has it, I'd say test drive both to see which you prefer.

£15k will get you a good e55. IN fact there is one on the club site that is supposed to be superb (not mine)

I do have one and they are great cars. A 63 will be a little newer but not much and whilst its a great engine the 55 has lots more tuning options. 700bhp is quite doable...

I did consider these but the repair costs would be something I couldn’t bear thinking about and from reading the reviews etc put me off.
