Weekend car or better daily quandary
Discussion
So, after a redundancy and taxback have a cheap diesel estate daily and bit of cash (around 15k) to get another car but bit stuck so
Weekend car options
Got to be a 4 seater with overnight luggage, still have youngish kids so a 2 seater is a waste. Only for 12mths is as looking to go EV in the future
I've always wanted a B7 RS4 but right at the limit of budget and know could be ruinous, but it's got an 8krpm V8.
Alternatively I could get something cheaper and more different, maybe S4 convertible that wife would also like and drive. Still fun but not as special
Or get a better daily, this needs to be a fastish estate (got used to the space), and do up to 200miles a month so falls into
Petrol
Would have to have to be vaguely sensible fuel wise, so looking at S4 V6 and 335i as obvious options, any other suggestions I missed
Diesel
Always loved my Jags so the XF S is top of the list, with the 330/335d being the alternative, not much that handles and cruises too , whilst being decent value and not too old
Any input appreciated, not interested in saloons or hot hatches (been there) but if anyone done similar be good to hear what you went for

V8 M3 for the weekend car? I’ve linked to a cabriolet, which I think feels more special for the kids. If this is going to be your last car before going electric, why not make it a V8?

I'm not sure on the M3 something about the image, and from what I can see the boot is pretty useless with roof down, not sure how much of an issue that is in reality. Will have a look round though as good option cheershttps://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202...
Keep the daily & get a second car.
I'd say take a good look & test drive of a VXR8 they're a very underrated drivers car with a good chassis sensible maintenance costs & you'll lose very little come resale time.

The only downside is that you may not go EV as soon as you planned as you'll be enjoying the car
