6k first time car for brother

Hi all,
As above, brother is looking to buy his first car (he's been driving for 6+ years just never needed a car of his own)

Looking at 6k budget
Petrol (low annual mileage estimated at 5-7k)
Corsa/Fiesta sized (5 door though)
2015 or newer
<60k miles
Used for shortish journeys in the week, weekends away.
A/C, bluetooth (screen would be nice, with/without sat nav)

Lots to choose from, just thought I'd ask you guys with more experience with me for any potential things to keep an eye out for in particular?

If I had six bags to spend on a Fiesta-sized car, I'd get a Fiesta. Seriously, they're great.

Spec to get is 1.0 Ecoboost turbo (ideally 125bhp, but 99bhp is also good) with the excellent dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

As long as due diligence is done regarding service history, mileage, owners, insurance register, etc., your brother won't regret it.

I believe he's wanting to stay with a manual but I'll check.

Fiesta was definitely near the top of the list, but there seem to be so many fairly well received cars in that category thought I'd get some other opinions.

I've got 2 kids driving and both have Fiestas.

As said, great cars to drive, all the safety kit, Bluetooth for the phone, heated front screen which is handy, USB for charging things, sensible insurance cost, servicing costs reasonable.

Our cars are the 1.25 litre non-turbo, manual. I'd check insurance quotes between the turbo and non-turbo engines before buying.

Personally I'd not want to spend 6 bags on a first car, the likelyhood of some sort of shunt is high. but as above, go for a Fiesta.

Quite like the styling of the mazda compared to the ford, seems to be a (too?) good price.

Another for a Suzuki Sport here. Japanese reliability, inexpensive to own and run with a little fun added in.
