Afternoon all,

I have a 65 plate M6 Gran Coupe with an Akrapovic exhaust. Considering a change.

Noise and high BHP hold equal importance. 2/4 doors fine - no kids en tow.

Ideas ?

Cheers

SR

The Maserati Gran Turismo makes a lovely noise but it doesn't have loads of BHP though.

Of all my friends' cars, the one I think sounds the best is a v12 Aston Martin DB9 with aftermarket exhaust (not sure which one). Sounds amazing.

Given its age, probably not what you are looking for though.

I am also rather fond of the 6.2 v8 AMG sound. So very, very naughty. C63 AMG?

No connection but something like this? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

I'm running a 981 Cayman S with "race headers" and the Porsche PSE system and its pretty insane. Power obviously isn't stupidly high though.

Surely an F-Type V8 Jag would fit the requirements?

Oooh this. An svr pulled up the other day. Is that within price range just about for a leggy one?

Excellent suggestions guys. The C63 is an option, definitely.

Any Merc AMG V8 before they started turbocharging them. Could listen to them all day...

Another vote for the BMW E46 M3 CSL. To my ears it sounds so much better than the standard M3.

If you can find one, the Porsche 964 made a lovely throaty flat 6 bellow. I don't think 911s have sounded quite as good since then

V8 Vantage
V12 Vantage
R8 V10
F Type 5.0 Supercharged

Merc / BMW options aren’t even close, granted the old 6.2 V8 is nice and the AMG GT but the cars listed above are something else.

This does sound the absolute shizzle. Am also quite partial to a 90 degree V-Twin.

Chuck an interesting bike engine in a Caterham/Westfield type thing and then you get the noise and the (relative) safety. Win win!
