Anyone got any experience of dealing with them?
I'm reading some seriously bad reviews on Trust Pilot, most seem to be complaining about return fees for damage (which they claim wasn't there).

Some recent first hand experience would be useful.

Thanks
Simon

I’m currently with Lex and no issues whatsoever.

Obviously not returned the car yet, as its due back next year. However, most people (not all) who complain about return fees usually don’t look after their cars or expect dings and scratches not to be charged for.

I’ve had my last 4 cars on leases and never been charged for any return fees, but I treat them like I own them smile

Same here, my last two have gone back mint with zero charges. But trust pilot doesn’t read well, and I seem to recall a flurry of complaints on here a while back, but have been unable to find the thread.

Have just retired from a large financial institution...rhymes with Boyds Tank...we used Lex as our fleet company.

Never had an issue with them at hand back time, and a couple of times there were usual wear and tear scuffs etc..

Last time the collection guy told me as long as there are no significant dents scratches they are ok and it goes straight to the auction anyway.

Only issue i had was the personal cost for upgrading or benefit in kind went up a lot.Made run of the mill cars like Nissan etc mega expensive....

I have dealings with them through work. Like all lease companies they like to Penny pinch, for example tyres would need to be nearly down to the rims to change and then they don't want the dealer to do it, so you have to spend more time at garages. Whenever I've dealt with them though they are good guys, but I see it from the other side.

Just on tyres, when i've replaced them myself i've always changed both on the same axle at the same time - especially if one is well worn. With a lease maintenance pack, would they allow that? as per what the manufacturer recommends.

Generally no, but worth pushing for it. I believe 2mm is when they approve tyres although that may have changed.

I run a fleet of 350 vehicles some of which were Lex maintained. The customer services team were appalling, communication from the account management was encrypted in a data protection wall that didn't function properly and they provided misleading information about contract duration/expiry.

Only when I threatened to report them to the FCA did they become compliant and then divulged information they shouldn't.

I've also met a senior account manager at an EV seminar earlier in the year who gave me no confidence in the business.
