hi, i am 16, 17 in october, i am looking to buy my first car, the problem is everything is so economical and boring, i travel to school/work everyday and overall do around 12,000 miles perr annum, i would love an old morris minor but they are way out of my price range.

i want a car that has a decent sized bonnet, so that i can upgrade the air cooling system and add nitrous oxide, i won't do this straight away though because of insurance, i will hopefully eventually use it as a drag racer, it also needs to be fairly big and not complicated because i want to add a high performance exhaust system, rip out the seats (other than 2) and attach a turbocharger onto the exhaust. it also has to be fairly old because i want it to look good and newer cars won't have room for a higher volume engine or fuel tank, doesn't matter if it has an inline engine or v-type, it also doesnt matter about the suspension as i will upgrade this anyway. it needs to be fairly low. it also needs to be manual (so that i can install pinion gears (for drag racing)

Overall, i would like a car that is old, manual, not very complex and that is not customised (for insurance) it doesn't matter if it is unreliable but i want it to run, air cooling, electric windows etc are not needed, but i do need a radio

my maximum price is £3,000 including insurance (i will be 17 when i first buy the car)

cheers

Russian, i live in the UK. Also, what does '4/10 not good enough' mean, i love driving cars, i love going fast and being a bit daring, i prefer drag racing to off-roading, but off-roading didn't need any modifications to start, but i have now come to the conclusion that i cant afford an offroader so instead, i am going to buy a modifiable car, so that when i build up my no claims bonus and can afford an offroader i can go offroading and work on the modifiable car at the same time, it just means i cant go fast in a car until i build up my NCB. sorry for any confusion, i deleted the original post anyway just for you.

just in the matter of interest, what made you think that i was russian
