Here's some infoes:

Current car: Ford Focus, petrol, 153,000 miles, 56 plate. Had this car for 10 years.

We have a Golf (11 plate) in the family too.

Looking to replace the Focus in the next few months.

Budget: £6,000ish
Travelling: Mostly about 25 miles to work, 25 miles back. Motorway most of the way.

Just had a baby. We'll probably replace the Golf in a few years as it's at 156,000 miles itself. This replacement will become the "family" car.

I have no idea what car to buy to replace the Focus. I'm a bit put off Ford's since having the golf as the latter is much more solidly built.

I don't want something massive, nor something tiny.

I do want something with low tax, low miles and a bit more modern than a 56 plate! Must be 5 door.

I was looking at a BMW 1 series. Not for the badge, but I like the look. There's a 13 plate that seems okay, modern enough and okay mileage.

Potentially a Volvo S60 but that's quite big.

I'm quite open to other cars.

Looking to buy outright.

How about a Seat Leon.

You'll get a decent current shape 1.6 diesel for around 6k.

Cheap tax and plenty of kit

Something like this
