Lease Credit Application Issue / Help
Discussion
Just after some general help with a scenario I've had.
Found a7 lease I was happy with that had limited stock. Fleet Prices were decent to deal with and seem to have done their bit with VWFS.
Credit application went in and had 3 separate queries come through over a 48hr period including:
Why is your home postcode so far from your work postcode.
All of the queries could have come through after the initial check but instead dripped through over a 48-72 hr period.
In the end application was successful (credit rating is perfect) but the stock has now gone, leaving me with a credit application on my file which could have been avoided.
Any ideas / ways I could follow up. My main thoughts are to go direct to VWFS and ask for an explanation.
Appreciate input

I'm not sure there is anything you can do. I've been frustrated with this recently too with Alphabet (BMW). I submitted an application only for them to come back and ask for proofs of address, then a couple of days later wanting bank statements. The broker could have just requested these up front and like you I had a perfect credit score.
Isn’t this the risk we take when applying for any finance?
My situation was slightly different where I had been approved just prior to COVID-19, didn’t want to wait god knows how long for my car to be built and so cancelled the order and got my initial fee refunded. But that’s my credit rating now gone down ultimately for no reason.

I'm fine with the risk of losing the car.
It is the way the credit check was carried out. I provided wage slips and proof of address with the initial application.
Every question was direct from the lender (not broker - who just copies the questions). The 4th questions could have been asked at the initial stage when the check had been taken place.
If I am providing permission to check my credit file their must be a level or standard to which this is carried out.
The obvious implication is the car was no longer available but I'm as much annoyed by a company who have not carried out their job correctly in relation to my data and credit file.
