£1500 runabout

Had my lease go back last week and going to be looking to move house soon so don't want any further finance against my name but thinking about a £1500 runabout for the short term.
Has to be 5 doors
Relatively economical (30mpg round town?)
Cheap tax (partner is an eco warrior which rules out my 2.8 V6 Saab idea - also wasn't very economical)
And newer than 2006.
Doesn't have to be quick, but sub 10 secs to 60 preferred.
Thoughts?
