Hatch/estate

Sat nav etc
Cruise
Good space for family of 5
Low tax £30 ish
Fancy a few driving Holidays Uk and Europe
Upto 4 years old
Below 60k miles
Comfortable, spacious and 45mpg on a run
Average 12k a year
Like sportier looks

Skoda Octavia vRS (diesel for the requested mpg).

Best all round car I've ever owned. Sold in 2017, but gave me 60,000 miles of trouble-free motoring. Sporty, yet practical. Performance won't set the world alight, but it's enough, and I think the pre-facelift mark 3 is a looker.

Comes in a rather fetching green if you're feeling brave.

Is there a reason you don't want an auto in most cases you'll find the auto is better suited than the manual as well as being a bit better on fuel.

The Mondeo is the pick it's the best FWD in it's class & is a very nice place to be a Titanium with the X Pack is the pick:

The DS5 is an overlooked car but they make a great family car but they only come in Auto form.

I was hoping you would reply! Your suggestions are always spot on, thanks.

The Mondeo is really growing on me, I actually like it in estate form too.

Thank you

Also look at the DS5 that first one I linked to is very good spec wise, when I was looking I went for a Vignale so I do like the Mondeo but if you don't need an estate then the DS5 is a good 2nd choice to the Ford.

ZX10R NIN,

I would be interested if you can give me your thoughts on a car that’s just come to me whilst searching.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203007207637

Something along these lines. Miles might need be higher than preferred but I’m sure a Mercedes could handle it.

What are these like?

Thanks

I see we've had a budget creep wink as much as I'm Mercedes bias I wouldn't buy one with that mileage at that price also some of the later 4 pot diesels have started showing a similar timing chain issue to the BMW's so bare that in mind because it's an engine out fix.

There are lot's out there that are running fine but it's something to bear in mind also with those & your annual mileage also expect to be giving the car a suspension refresh in the next few years.

Here are few options I'd be going for instead:

V60 D4 R Design Nav

3.0d XF Portfolio

3.0tdi S Line

190 S Line Ultra

A4 Black Edition Plus

Vignale 180
