I’m currently a company car driver and, mainly due to the ever increasing BIK obligations, am opting out and taking a car allowance for a new car when my current car lease expires.

Many insurance companies won’t recognise time driving a company car with no claims as NCD against personal car insurance, but some do.

Has anybody experienced this and can maybe point me in the direction of insurance companies who’ve recognised time in a company car and applied NCD and had good service from in this context?

I have a letter from my employer HR Manager confirming 6 years of claim / accident free motoring and that the car was under my sole use for social and business travel.

Thanks in advance.

Did this myself 3 years ago. Can you get a letter of NCD from your employers car insurer?

This is how I did it, and it took about 5-10 minutes to sort out. Only draw back was that I had 15 years claim free, but the insurance company would only give me a maximum of 5 years NCD.

It’s a fleet policy so I probably won’t be able to get a letter from the insurer, but worth asking though, thank you.

I do have a letter from the HR Manager on company headed paper though.

You certainly need to talk to a human being rather than compare the confused websites.

My mate was in a similar position and he spoke to A-Plan who were helpful.
