Hi all, after some help.

A bit of background, in the last year we've had two cars stolen off the drive. First one keyless theft, 2nd they broke in because the keys were protected in wallets and did a burglary at same time for good measure too.

Cars were an M5 and then an M340i, we had that one 4 weeks..

So I decided to avoid the impact of the insurance and to hopefully quell the theft the first time round I replaced the M5 with an 208 GTi... My wife when the m340i was stolen replaced it with a car we hoped would not be stolen to order and shipped abroad, and got a 2nd hand AUDI TTS.

The issue is we now have two impractical cars. So in reality I need to replace the GTI. I've been thinking of just getting a roof box, but the thing is its just too noisy to do long drives abroad in etc.

Now the challenge. Body could be a saloon, SUV or estate. I want something fast but off the radar of the thief. I need a plush interior with good acoustics. Suspension should be good for crappy streets and speed bumps in London, but also not a wallowy mess on decent roads. Age is somewhat irrelevant but it needs to be reliable. Budget, anywhere up to 30k ish. But I'm not against spending a lot less.

I'm currently installing bollards on the driveway so at least with those, CCTV and steering locks I might have a chance of keeping this one..

I’m guessing nothing German for a start then. Volvo V90 or Subaru Outback?

Oh, and take up clay pigeon shooting. Should you need to call the police, they’ll be round double quick if you’ve got a shotgun registered at the property. Might be handy as well.

Wimbledon, it's not where I live, it's the people who live near by 🙁

Volvo V90 seems to logical choice here, possibly with a Polestar upgrade?

I don't think Volvo's are on anyones radar really, I bought one myself after my Audi A4 S-line was stolen off my drive in a burglary much the same as yourself

Alfa Guilia/Stelvio fast great looking IMHO and seem to be off thieves radars (and buyers looking at the sale figures)

That or a Lexus GS. Stay away from German cars, thieves are brand snobs...

Definitely V90 if you want to go under the radar.

You can pick up a year old T5 within budget and then get a Polstar upgrade.

I was seriously considering a Giulia Quadrifoglio .. not sure that would be off the thief radar. I know it is less likely as dealer networks, rarity etc. It is actually half the cost to insure that another M5 would be. However I only want the latest one with the new interior, so would be more like 70K or a PCP, not sure I want to spend that right now.
