BMW i8 / 718 Cayman / C43 AMG

Hi All,

I've got a budget of 30-45k to spend. Was initially thinking of getting a nearly new 530d. I've changed my mind since and I want to get something a bit more special which is not exactly a fleet car

The car would mainly be a weekly commuter between London and Coventry (live in London Mon-Thurs when it doesn't get used, drive up and around Coventry and back Thurs-Sun), 15k miles/yr.

So, the choices I'm thinking about are:

- 2017+ Cayman: Pros: Pros - True driver's car, great all around, legendary build quality. Cons - Is it good for the highway/country/commute mileage I'll be putting on it?

- 2016+ i8: Pros - Well into supercar territory, appeal on par with cars much above either the Cayman or C43. Cons - A bit gaudy but then that's the whole appeal right... Again, not sure about how it will weather the mileage, is it really a DD?

- 2017+ C43 AMG: Pros - easily the best highway cruiser/DD out of the lot, stress free to manage and drive, discreet and not too offensive. Cons - a bit too conservative and not enough appeal?

Which would you choose and why - taking into account the mileage, comfort, and overall appeal. Other suggestions welcome.
