What with all the Congestion Charges and ULEZ etc, can someone point me in the right direction for the best type of car for a 30 mile commute from just outside the M25 to the Shepherds Bush area in West London. I work 12 hour shifts so starting at either 07:00 or 19:00.

I'm confused between, electric, petrol, hybrid etc. Diesel definitely out, I know that much.

First step would be identifying best type of car and then any suggestions as to actual models would be more than appreciated.

A small electric car would be good for that journey, something like a leaf, or a hybrid, such as a P1.

Depends massively on where it's parked for those 12 hours. Will it have access to a charging point there?

Brompton.

Or an Electric Brompton.

More helpfully, could something like an Aygo or C1 fit the bill? Low purchase costs, low running costs, and not hammered by emissions legislation.

An EV would be the best bet, but lots more expensive.
