Anyone imports cars from the States?
Discussion
I have just bought a rather strange machine on a whim.
These things happen!
The main issue is it's in Illinois and it needs to get to London! Now normally I might make it into an adventure and drive it to say Newark and get it on a RoRo ship. However the car in question is a 1957 Isetta bubble car and it's been stored since 1967!
It's a runner but I think we can rule out any kind of cross country trip!
So I'm asking if there's anyone on here that brings in Yank metal to the UK? The Isetta is tiny and should, if there is available space fit in a container along with some parts or another car.
I can of course ship it in its own container however that is somewhat of an overkill given its diminutive dimensions and weight!

Get a UK forwarder that handles US to UK LCL loads, they will handle all the complexities & there is a fair chance that it will work out cheaper than you imagine.
I use Seaport Freight http://www.seaportfreight.co.uk/freight-services on a regular basis for LCL freight - well priced, efficient & helpful. Ask for Andy.

I used Schumacher Cargo Logistics. They handled everything from getting the car from Ohio to New York and then on to the UK. The process was painless.
I believe they do offer shared containers.

Johnny Smith did a video on importing from the USA on his Car Pervert channel, covers lots of useful information (taxes, shipping costs, etc).
