Potential Audi purchase - duplicate service book

I am just back from viewing an Audi from a small independent garage 2011 year.

Looked over the car and seemed all fine, drove well. When spoke to the garage advised full service history etc etc.

Anyway part of my checks had a look at the service record. Initially looked ok but the. Realised it was a duplicate. Which is stamped by Coulsdon Audi as the issuing dealer.

3 dealer stamps, Macclesfield and Stockport. Plus 3 none dealer network stamps.

What are people’s thoughts please?


2011 61 plate car
9th jul 2013 - 19,188 miles - Macclesfield audi
20th nov 2014 - 31,384 miles - Stockport audi
16th nov 2015 - 37,511 miles - Stockport audi
15th jun 2018 - 56,426 miles - Wynyard motor co
8th mar 2019 - 59,818 miles - Vasstech garage svs
28th aug 2019 - 60,956 miles Wynyard motor co
Although the final service receipt actually has a date of 12 oct 2019.

I was going to pay for a V Check and the site finds the car when I type in the registration. But when I make payment
The registration is not currently attached to any vehicle. Please seach for a valid registration.

I'm sure you can easily buy a blank service book and stamp on ebay. I like to see invoices.

I'd be calling those garages for confirmation.

Drop VCheck a message on FB, they are helpful

Great idea. Spoke to audi and they were able to look back a few years to confirm services and Mots.

Plus v check Facebook gave me the private numberplate to try which worked.

The 'servicing' through 2018 - 2019 period seems very odd. Minimal milage and time -why bother?

I’m guessing three owners.

First one stuck to Audi.
Second one didn’t bother.
Third one did some catch up servicing with local garages?

Thanks for all the replies.

The car has had 5 owners so yeah bit of catching up and servicing for new owners.

I used the V5C number to check garages where mots were carried out as those dates were the same as the services.

I called the garage mentioned at the end of the service list and he knew the car and was full of praise for it which gave me some confidence.

If it had been my car from new it would be serviced every year but I get most owners are not like myself and a bit more careless with things.

I am also a big over thinker so end up doing a lot of checks, especially when it comes to stressful car purchases. Probably why I have not had many cars in my time tbh.
