Heated seats

Looking at a new to me , second hand car.

What are your thoughts on heated seats? Is it a must?

I’ve never had them but felt I’m missing out!

If you have them do you use them regularly?

She says they’re essential. But she is mostly a lizard.
By the time I’ve remembered I’ve got them, I’ve usually warmed up already.

Bonus points for rear heated seats, so the entire family can feel like they’ve wet themselves.

I wont look at a car without them now, essential to me, have them on even in summer (fk knows why)

Have them currently and in previous cars. Bearing in mind different people have different tolerances to the cold, personally I find them a gimmick. When I do heat my seat, it’s only on for a couple of minutes because after that point the cabin is toasty and my arse has become uncomfortably warm. I wouldn’t pay for the privilege or exclude a car from consideration for the sake of those two minutes per journey.

Once I'd had them I now wouldn't buy with out them and always now tick the box when buying new....

There's only a narrow window of time they are nice (unless you live in the artic circle) but what I'd really like is a heated steering wheel, but those are super rare.

A must for me with leather (or fake leather). That way, on long journeys, you can keep the cabin temp down, but a warm back. Best of both worlds.

My last few cars have all had them but its not a.priority for me, they re nice to have in.winter but im really not that fussed.

Had them on previous and current cars, and will in future as well. Just don't kneel on them in case you break the wires.

Had them on all my cars for the last 20 years and have never used them. I don’t think I have ever been in a situation where I thought my arse needed to be warmer even though I live in an area where we measure snowfall in feet. I think it comes down to my list of priorities. If my hands and face have no feeling, and when I breath through my nose it freezes the nose hairs, then I’m unlikely to notice my bum being needy. After all, I’ve most likely got pants on in those situations.

When I moved here with a group of friends in 2004 the conversation went

“Did he just say we are getting 6 feet of snow??!??!”
“Don’t be stupid. He must have said 6 inches”

Woke up the next morning and couldn’t find my car.

Essential spec for my wife, doesn't bother me either way.

I’ve never went looking for them when buying a car but all my cars for the last 10 years have probably had them. I like them but usually forget I have them.

for my winter cars..essential. So is a heated steering wheel. Of course, I live in Canada

Essential for me as are air cooled seats now.

Cooled seats are handier, specially if you have shorts on.

I love heated seats, i like to use them but still have the air in the car cold. Ive even used them with aircon on.

Sadly one of the few things I really like in a car. Even my Range Rover Classic ones work.

Was never bothered, but the new van came with them and TBF in the winter cold starts I'd miss em now

Depends on the seat material partly. Some seats are colder to the touch.

Also it's a lot quicker and more efficient to preheat the seats, than the whole cabin. If that's an option.
