Anyone own a 4x4 hybrid (non-plugin)?

I'm replacing the 225 plugin hybrid, and coinciding with buying another place in the countryside I've decided to make sure I get something with a bit more ground clearance and 4x4. We're still going to be spending time in London, so hybrid is an important consideration. We'll also need to do the ~60 mile drive twice a week, so need something with decent motorway manners. Because we're going to lose access to regular charging, I'm keen to move towards a self-charging hybrid.

We're going to buy/lease new and get out to try the following as soon as is practical. But I was wondering if anyone had any experiences to share:
- Rav4 4wd hybrid (current model, not previous)
- Lexus NX300h (I gather it's mechanically the same as above?)
- Honda CR-V hybrid

I've done a few miles in a CR-V hybrid, Real good mileage in town and follow all the prompts it gets easily into the 50's and 60's, Journeys of distance (300~600 mileage) then a tank full is easily mid 40's MPG, very pleasant place to inhabit, Full bore overtakes are very (CVT'esk) noisy but otherwise very civilised, Just does everything well … Even the 80's Mercedes style mock wood trim

I might be inclined to throw the mild hybrid XC60 into the mixer too.

wife to be's stepdad had and nx300 for 3 years as a company car, liked it so much he ordered the exact same thing again last year so coming up to 5 years with one.

its a nice quiet refined place to be and as a passenger driven sedately you're not aware its a CVT

previous car was a Q5 and its a small company with no department to manage a fleet so there is no list, he could have had practically anything.

How is the boot size? What sort of thing is it comparable to?

Aren't the plugins also self charging, but with the option to top up the juice if you need it?

I have a plugin right now, and it's not as efficient at self-charging as some of the dedicated hybrids. If you're not charging regularly, you're not getting the benefit.

We’re awaiting a top spec RAV4. Sometime next month is the latest ETA.

Moving on from a C-HR as need some more space.

The test drive really impressed.

I wouldn't say there is any more space than my civic but that's praised for having a huge boot for a smallish car.

At the end of the day they are not small cars, a quick google suggests 475l which is slightly small for all the class but probably only by 10% and 1500-1600l with seats flat.
