It'll be two weeks this Thursday since I went into a VW dealership to look at buying a new Transporter van. The rep took my email address, phone number and home address and promised to email me quotes for HP, PCP etc. So far nothing. Covid or not, am I being impatient? I would've thought he'd have called if the email bounced back etc. and I expected something certainly within 7 days of my visit. Is it not simply a case of dropping figures into a pre drawn up form on a computer? EG: new van is £35k, less £8k trade in for my van, 48 monthly payments of £££. I'm certainly not chasing someone to give them £35K!

I’d take the business elsewhere. If they can’t be bothered to respond in 48hrs I’d move on - that’s certainly how I’ve dealt with lease agents - plenty out there wanting the business.

24 hours would be the maximum i'd wait, if its like this now imagine how painful it would be if something went wrong. Can you spec vans on carwow ?

1 to 3 days is what I'd have expected but gave them the benefit because of Covid chaos. But am I right in thinking it'd take less than 20 minutes to sort a quote?

Cue comments about buying elsewhere and driving to the original dealer and pulling donuts in the car park while being sucked off by the original sale person's wife.

You should be able to run a quote in less than 2 minutes.

Just chase them.

Yes they should have got back to you by now but if they are the nearest dealer and can do the deal you want then just politely remind them.

It only takes you 2 minutes.

If they then don't reply then bin them.

Took a Lotus dealer 30 mins to do the same for me from receiving email with details to emailing back on 3 cars.

I would go elsewhere if they are taking days rather than hours

I've got a T6 and the dealers are known to be generally rubbish. You probably know already but buying something that is VW Approved and 6 Months old can save a large chunk of cash.
