My Dad is after a new car and was mortified to learn neither mine or my girlfriends car have them fitted. Sure enough the Skoda Fabia he's been looking at today doesn't have one and Skoda don't seem to have a CD changer as an accessory. TBH I think it's a bit ste to expect him to struggle with a smartphone or iPod just to play his music so I'm wondering if anyone is aware of any new car markers still offering CD's in new models?

I was pretty disappointed to see my 2020, 42 grand Ford Ranger had a CD player biggrin. I don't own a CD.

My father had the same issue when he last changed his car.
I copied his favourite CDs onto a SD card and now he would never go back.He is not comfortable with using his phone to stream but happy with the SD card after I explained it as the same as a CD multichanger but with lots and lots of CDs in it.

Doubtful - Some hondas did but don’t think they do anymore.

With the shift to CarPlay and Android Auto there is minimal opportunity to integrate with CD players which need much more hardware etc...

He’d prob be best with an iPod touch fully loaded with all his music left permanently plugged in to the car (that’s what my parents do)

My 69 plate VW Caddy has one, for some reason biggrin Thankfully there's USB input, and bluetooth connection for my phone. Haven't seen many modern cars with it, unless it's a DVD to upgrade Navigation maps...

You could always ask him to give you his 30 favourite cd's. Download them all off a torrent site, pop them on a £10 USB stick and plug it in. Then tell him you've installed a cd changer.

I'm old enough to be your Dads, all my cars have Cd's in fact two of them, including my Lotus Carlton have cassettes, but I've now ripped all my CD's to a thumb drive and use that in the car, its easy windows media player has the software, also easy to then copy so I also have all the cd's on my phone wife's phone etc.

My mam's new shape Polo R-Line and my A4 both have one in the glovebox, but they are very hard to find in new cars.

My new bmw 4 series gran coupé is still rocking a CD player! Was surprised to see it! Think some Audis still have them in the glove box too?

I'm old, so rather old-school too!

My BMW E46 Compacts both had CD-changers so long trips weren't a problem.

Then I bought a BMW E86 Z4 that had no CD-changer but did have an aux-in. Great I thought, next time I did a long trip (200 miles/4 hours) I plugged my MP3 into that, but in less than 2 hours it went flat and I had forgotten the charging lead! But I just hated having wires everywhere so I'm about to buy a CD-changer for my current Z4. laugh

But I might put some MP3s onto CDs for more choice.

My brand new Arteon is supposed to have one (according to the brochure) but its actually not present on the vehicle to my annoyance.

My 4 series has one, but I've never used it.
Wife's Mini doesn't - she was miffed when she found out.
3 usb drives and she's as happy as a wife will ever be.
The Mini software doesn't like the cold though and will often not play first thing in winter.
Give it a couple of minutes and it's fine though.
