Would you ? New car to older more miles

I personally would but I'm having trouble with the better half.
Currently own a 2018 BMW 340i with 9k on it ...six pot, B58 engine, absolute mint owned from new. ..(well pre reg so saved £17k on list)
Looking at Lexus RCF ,5 litre V8 2015 44k one owner ..something I've always wanted...list is £60k
Cost to change (initial e mail dealings ) £3K - hardly earth shattering ...part ex offered £23k, WBAC for example want £21k.
I think the issue with the good lady is that I finally worked my way up to a quality new motor as a cash buyer, only for this to be deemed as a step backward simply because its a 2015 with 44k on the clock. These things are bomproof, the mileage isn't really an issue obviously its thirsty and services are expensive blah blah blah. Plus I have equity in the current car but that will depreciate even further in line with 335i 's etc.....RCF / ISF tend to hold their value.
Just mulling it over (and no I don't want an M4) ;-)

One of my friends did just this. He changed his very clean, tidy and owned from new 340i with MPSS for a 2nd hand C63 coupe. So the older C63 with the 6 litre engine. I can't remember the exact age and he has a private plate on it but it was lowish mileage when he bought it. The point is that you just can't buy the 6 litre C63 new today so if you want one you have to buy used. I think it was a no brainer decision. I've never been excited by the 340i. Its a decent enough car but its not exciting like a C63. The C63 is much more of an event just firing it up cold - IN MY OPINION. Now to some people the newer car is better because its newer. Some people will be scared by the 6 litre fuel consumption. There are lots of variables with cars and these variables mean different things to different people. Only you can decide what is important to you and you need to weigh up what's important to you and how much etc.
It's a no brainer the Lexus all day long, servicing won't be as expensive as you think typically they tend to be around the same cost as your 340i (you'll get a discount if you're a Lexus owners club member) so maintenance really isn't an issue.
Also sit your OH in one & I reckon the objections will disappear & show her the list price for both cars then show their value now at which point I think you'll have here onside.
As others have said the depreciation on your current 340i will be a lot higher than the RC-F.

Just seen a 2018 RCF, cost to change is £13k after the first joust with the dealer. 'er Indoors has given me the nod on this one which is always nice for the future :-)
Only thing is its five hours away. Do I trust the dealer to give me an honest assessment on its condition or peg it up there (its a main dealer, just not Lexus)

Not sure how relevant it is here, but Clarkson really did not like it, it does seem to be a heavy old Hector 
The LFA however, is there a better sounding V10 than that?

Don't even look at the Doug DeMuro video . I've driven it and there isn't much I don't know about them . Been looking for some time, well over 18 months or so. The two mentioned on the thread have literally just popped up in the last week as the market starts to wake up.
