2 completely different options
Discussion
I was due to go for a new Golf GTE through my work salary sacrifice scheme recently, however I have now been told that this scheme has been suspended for 6 months (no idea why). However, my new car itch has been scratched and have decided to buy a cheap(ish) "something different" car for the next 6 months.
I've finally narrowed it down to two options (which are complete the opposite to each other) and cant decide which one to go for:
Option 1:
2006 Lexus IS250 SE Auto
Option 2:
2005 Audi A3 3.2 Sport Manual
Im at the age now where I'm not sure which way to go (I'm 34 by the way). I cant decide whether to go for the "leisurely and relaxed driving" Lexus or the "always pedal to the metal" A3 3.2. Both of the above are cars I genuinely admire, but for completely different reasons. Let's put it this way, I've been watching a few YouTube videos on both. All the Lexus ones seem to be about high spec, comfort, quietness and reliability - all which I like. And all the A3 3.2 videos are all about putting your foot down, hearing the roar from the V6, and red lining like a t**t just to hear the engine note - which to be honest, I secretly like too.
Can anyone help push me into making a decision here? I dont usually struggle with car choices, but not sure whether the "grown up" option is best or whether the "let's have some fun" option would be better.

Go for the Lexus get an X Pipe added (£150-200 & add a direct replacement air filter) & you can enjoy some silliness in the Lexus they have a decent growl as standard.
Put it in sport mode which means using the paddles if you don't it'll be bouncing off the limiter, I hope this helps.

That's a great idea, however I prefer to keep my cars as stock/factory as possible. Hence, the exhaust idea may not work.
I've also done some research on the dreaded cam chain issue on the 3.2 Audi's. Slightly putting me off those.
Perhaps I'm swaying towards the Lexus.
Any other alternatives???
