OK, so Im not after a supercar, but I am after something reliable, something with reasonable mpg, something comfy.

What I don't want is at the end of October is to take this nearly 3 year old nissan qashqai and either walk out with another at £230 a month, or pay off the rest of it for another 4 years at about £200!

Im sick of paying for a car I don't actually own.

Current thoughts include a rover 75 estate (if I can find a decent one as they're good but old) or maybe a mark 2 skoda superb.
Though im a little worried about both my back and the wifes (we're both over 50 and had some probs with our backs, thats nursing for you!)

So, Im kinda throwing it out there, in the past I've had a 2012 Touran, a 2016 polo, a 1995 polo, a 1975 mini (we wont fit in one of them anymore!) 1989 escort and currently also have a mazda bongo, but thats going to be mainly as a toy / adventure and camping sort of thing.

Commute wise I do 40 miles a day for either 3 or 5 days a week, so nothing mad, I don't drive like Lewis Hamilton, so as long as it's comfy and safe Im happy.

Anyone got any questions or suggestions?

How much do you want to spend? That way people will be able to give sensible suggestions.

A Volvo of some description sounds like a good bet, Volvo seats are usually very comfy for your bad back. S60, V70 to suit your budget?

Damn I knew I would leave something out, been one of those days! frown

Budget is sub £10k and that really is the absolute max but would be happier at a max of £6-8K with a grand or so to keep in the back pocket for that inevitable first problem! eek

Ah interesting you say that I forgot I had a 1995 Volvo T5 850 too. Re the back issue, I think we are more concerned about the getting in and out issues which I must admit is about the only thing I like about the qashqai currently.
