Hi, I’m new to the forum and I’m in need of some ideas/ advice.

I’m going to be turning 19 in a few months and I will be looking to get and upgrade from my current ‘08 1.0L Corsa. I really can’t decide what I would like as I want something nippy yet not too common (VXR or ST). Due to my age insurance is a big deciding factor, hopefully 2 years NCB (looking at pay 2k Max.) I’ve done countless hours of searching and quoting to find THE car yet I can’t make up my mind.

Looking for preferably a hatchback but I’m open to anything.
Age isn’t really an issue it just has to be clean and well maintained.

Thought I’d let you guys leave some recommendations and any cars to avoid etc.

Thanks guys

Insurance for a 19 y/o may be an issue.

I can recommend the more recent VAG 1.4 TSI engine. Should be OK to get insured on, and in something like a 3 door Leon they go pretty well and shouldn't cost the world to insure.

Cheers guys, appreciate the suggestions. I’m liking the sound of the 1.4 tsi cars had a look before seems to be a good route to go.

Suzuki swift sport? You would get a very nice zc32 with that budget
Or you could save a bit of cash and go for a 1.2 ibiza with 105 bhp or not save the cash and go for the ibiza act with 140 bhp
Or...
Abarth 500
Mini Cooper s
Bmw 130i
Clio 200

I think it all depends how quick you want to go and what you are willing to pay for insurance!

When I was 20 I couldn't insure a 3.0 litre Capri (even though I worked for an insurance company), so I bought a P6B Rover 3500S that was just as quick but didn't look nearly as good.

A BMW 130i would definitely be exciting after a Corsa, but insurance might be an issue for you.
