Lease Extension Costs

Hi All,

Im debating taking my E220d for another 12 months with Arval.

Typically, is the monthly cost in the additional year cheaper, the same, or more expensive?

I would welcome your first hand experiences.

It could be any of the above.
Some people have had more, the same and less on the same car quoted in different months before the lease ends.

My first hand experience is that it was more so I didn't bother.

I've just extended Mrs Madness Seat Leon, was £195 on a 3 x 23 deal (8k) and the extension was £168 for 12 months and another 8k.

I extended a really cheap 5008 deal last year for £11 a month more for 12 months and additional 7k miles, initial quote was £80 odd more if I recall and no more miles so original 2 year mileage.

Worth asking them for a requote that was with hitachi

To add another experience.

Mrs J enquired about extending the lease on her BMW X2 from 24 to 36 months. We didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised that the monthly cost would be £30 less than she currently pays; £260 instead of £290.

Enquired about my Tesla lease with Leaseplan

Was 24 months, they said I can extend informally on the same terms for as long as I want, which is great as the same car is now £250 per month more expensive

It is interesting for me to find this thread as I was considering extending the 2 year lease on my Kona electric, even though I'm only 6 months into it.

The lease is via Arval, so if anyone has recent experience of extending I'd be interested to know the cost.

You may not be able to. Tried to extend Mrs ABZ’s Kia last week, but they’re not interested. Guess it’s worth more to them in the used market.

Just got a quote from Arval re extending our Volvo S90. It's on a 3+23 @ £278 per month at the moment for 8k miles pa with a few months left.

Their agreement doesn't actually have an end to it though. I.e. I have to give one month's notice to cancel at 24 months and if I dont then it rolls forward on a month by month basis at £301pm.

I asked for the alternative of an extension and have been quoted £271 for a one year extension; £286 for a 6 month extension.

There will be the second year service cost (c£500) plus tyres needed (£400) to take into account.
