small and reliable upto 4k

my commute is around 15 miles a day each way with a mixture of motorway/a roads, (10 motorway and the rest A roads)

im looking for something that will keep me going a while without too much bother.

ive had a number of fiesta's over the years which havent given me much bother. ideally dont want anything bigger than that though.

ive test driven a seat mii in the past and thought it was fantastic little car.

looking around ive found a nice looking fiesta 1.4 diesel, 60k miles, 2010, FSH for 3.5k

a citigo 67k miles, 2012, FSH, for 4k.

what other similar things should i be looking at? Aygo's, 107's, fiat 500's, 207's

as much as i dont really care what it looks like im really not keen on the honda jazz.

the fiesta being the diesel variety has cheap tax and should be economical.

literally none local to me for sale. realisticly im looking at picking something up this weekend so local is the only way.

don't get a diesel for a 30 mile round trip as you'll be able to get a nicer / newer / lower mileage petrol for the same money

also small petrol engines are much cheaper to maintain

Loads of stuff in the aygo / c1 / 107 range at that price and will be a perfectly good if uninspiring commuter, just make sure you get one with air con as they have a lot of glass and heat up massively in the sun

even seen some Cat S mk2 aygo etc under 4k on Autrader (only 5 years old)

one segment up and you have the usual yaris / corsa / fiesta etc but they will all have higher mileage at that price

if you want something cooler, MINI's and 500's fall into it as well but they will be a premium over the boring stuff

Small, reasonably frugal, and fun to drive at 9/10ths whilst keeping within legal limits. Feel like I've snared a relative bargain.

Sure, I'd have preferred a Clio 182, but reliability/age put me off. For £4k, you can get a fairly low mileage Twingo RS.
